Suh-WEEEEET!

(Snapped on 5/16/11 - using an iPhone and an Instagram filter)

Soooo...check this out. Somehow miraculously - my computer and new iPhone - have worked out the irreconcilable differences that had previously plagued their arranged marriage. Today marked the first time in the two weeks they've been together, that I've been able to download pics. from the phone to iPhoto...

Maybe all is not lost, after all...*mazel tov*

Good Things Come in Small Packages

(Snapped on 4/01/11 - using an iPhone and an Instagram filter)

My poor, poor Little Pretties...senselessly relegated to sit in a corner for weeks (or so it seems)...and for what? Well my dear friends...fear not. I shan't bore you with the details of my unpredictable whims and erratic mood swings, nor will I go into elaborate detail about the tragic misfortune that befell my beloved iPhone (*sob*). I will also refrain from bitching about the fact that my new iPhone and my iMac simply refuse to communicate with one another...and under no circumstances, will I fuss about my current financial situation, which is so dreadful at the moment - that I cannot afford to send off my 120 film for processing.

Aaaand...since posting fresh photos is not an option at this time (my apologies), I am assembling a bunch of older pics. which should jibe well with my most recent Big Ugly post

All of these pictures were taken over three different days...

(Snapped on 4/01/11 - using an iPhone and an Instagram filter)

...in an itty-bitty, little town - not too terribly far from where I live.

What you see here...

(Snapped on 10/20/10 - using a Sony Cybershot)

...and here, is pretty much all that there is to see...from a distance.

Once I took the initiative to stroll around though, and get up real close to the handful of nifty, old buildings and such...

(Snapped on 4/01/11 - using an iPhone and an Instagram filter)

...I realized there was much more to see, than had initially met my eyes.

The same thing was true when I pulled into town, on one of the few days that the original post office, (repurposed today as a charming antiques store) happened to be open for business...

I was mesmerized as I pored over graffiti scrawled on the walls, allegedly by the town's first post master, and Civil War soldiers who waited for the train - that would carry them away to fight for the South.

The more I explored...

...the more I discovered...

...and the more I wondered why it had taken me so long (41 years of either being driven by someone else, or driving past it myself) to finally take the time to inspect this charming town.

After my third visit to delightful Delaplane, I was not only its newest fan, but was also plotting out ways to feature it in my self-portraits...and the rest (as they say) is history...

Empty

(Snapped on 4/24/11 - using an iPhone and an Instagram filter)

For whatever reason, this photo sorta sums up the queer mood that I feel like I've been stuck in, lately...so I'm posting it.

I'll try to do better next time...

Party's Over

(Snapped on 4/24/11 - using an iPhone and an Instagram filter)

This Sunday night is more than just your average Sunday night - because it signifies the end of a major party weekend. There were several big events held in this area, these last few days..and I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that a large percentage of locals - might look at a beer and pull a similar grimace, to the expression on the guy's face above...
